According to the study by the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), reverse osmosis is recognised worldwide as the most effective treatment system when compared to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and ultraviolet treatments. Reverse osmosis, is in fact, also called hyperfiltration for its great effectiveness in terms of its capacity of physical and mechanical blocking of substances in water.
Reverse osmosis is a process that uses a semi-permeable membrane for the separation of the dissolved salts in the incoming water. That is, the solute is retained thanks to the membrane, preventing its passage and obtaining a pure solvent in the output.
In fact, in its studies comparing the various water treatments, the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) highlights the absolute effectiveness of the osmosis process in the removal of diverse microbes.
